tBTC Liquid
Restaking
FAQ
Common Questions

How does tBTC restaking work?+
tBTC restaking involves using your tBTC tokens to secure decentralized services within the EigenLayer ecosystem. By doing so, users contribute to the protocol’s security and, in return, receive additional rewards on top of their staking.
What is Liquid Restaking, and how does it differ?+
Liquid Restaking lets users restake their tokens and still maintain liquidity through liquid versions of their assets. In the case of tBTC, you receive intBTC, a liquid token that represents your staked tBTC. This allows you to continue earning rewards while using intBTC across DeFi platforms.
What are Isolated Liquid Restaking Tokens (iLRTs)?+
An Isolated Liquid Restaking Token (iLRT) like intBTC is issued when you restake tBTC. Each iLRT is tied exclusively to the underlying tBTC you restaked, allowing you to manage and track the performance of your staked tokens independently from other assets.
What advantages does tBTC restaking offer?+
Restaking tBTC brings several benefits:
  • Dual Rewards: Earn rewards through both tBTC staking and EigenLayer’s security services.
  • Increased DeFi Flexibility: intBTC can be utilized across DeFi platforms, giving you liquidity without sacrificing your staking rewards.
  • Security Contributions: By restaking tBTC, you’re actively securing the decentralized services in the EigenLayer network.
How can I start restaking my tBTC tokens?+
To restake your tBTC:
  1. Go to the InceptionLRT dApp.
  2. Select the amount of tBTC you want to restake.
  3. Finalize the transaction, and you will receive intBTC, the liquid token representing your restaked tBTC and rewards.
How is tBTC different from Bitcoin (BTC)?+
tBTC is a decentralized, tokenized version of Bitcoin (BTC) that operates on the Ethereum network. It allows Bitcoin holders to interact with DeFi platforms, whereas BTC is primarily used within the Bitcoin blockchain. tBTC bridges the gap between Bitcoin and Ethereum, enabling access to DeFi through a trustless mechanism.
Can I withdraw my restaked tBTC at any time?+
Yes, you can withdraw your restaked tBTC, but it may be subject to an unbonding period defined by EigenLayer. However, InceptionLRT offers a flash unstaking option, allowing you to bypass this period for quicker access to your assets.
